Setup 25xxx tablet with AutoCAD 13 for Windows in Windows 95/NT

A.  Set Tablet Menu Settings to "AutoCAD as GTCO DP5"  from the 2500 User's Manual

    1.  Refer to the "SETTING THE SOFT SWITCHES" in your 2500 User's Manual for instructions on setting up the
         tablet for "AutoCAD as GTCO WITH GTCO MICRO DIGI-PAD EMULATION."

    2.  Following are the menu settings required to enable your digitizer to operate correctly:

        Bank 1-  00000001             Bank 4-  00110100
        Bank 2-  11001000             Bank 5-  01010100
        Bank 3-  01110111             Bank 6-  00001000

       (1 =  Power Light is  ON  0 = Power Light is  OFF) 
   
     3.  To change the menu settings:
  
         a.  Place the cursor on the "BANK" block.

         b.  Select the block by pressing the "0" button. The indicator light will show which of the 8 banks is currently
              active.

         c.  Select the block whose number corresponds to the number of the bank you wish to set.

         d.  Select the "SETUP" block.  The BANK indicator will go off and the SETUP indicator will go on.  The lights in
              the eight numbered blocks now indicate the status of the switches in that bank. 

         e.  The Pick 0 button will toggle the light of each block to the setting you wish.

         f.  Repeat steps "a" through "e" for each bank requiring changes.

         g.  When finished, EXIT by hitting the "SETUP" box again.


B.  Edit the Registry to Enable "LegacyTablet" Mode ("LegacyTablet" is a reference to older CalComp Tablet models)

     1.   Press CTRL+ESC to activate the START button.   UP ARROW to RUN and press ENTER.

     2.   Type REGEDIT [ENTER].

     3.   DOWN ARROW to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and press the RIGHT ARROW key.

     4.   DOWN ARROW to System.  Press the RIGHT ARROW key.

     5.   DOWN ARROW to CurrentControlSet.  Press the RIGHT ARROW key.

     6.   DOWN ARROW to Services.  Press the RIGHT ARROW key.

     7.   DOWN ARROW to VxD.  Press the RIGHT ARROW key.

     8.  DOWN ARROW to cc95drv.  Press the [TAB] key.

     9.  DOWN ARROW to LegacyTablet.  Press [ENTER]

    10.  Press the [DELETE] key (NOT BACKSPACE).

    11.  Type 0 + the COM port where the tablet is located.   Example: 01 for COM port 1.

    12.  Press [ENTER].

    13.  Press ALT+F4 to EXIT and SAVE

    14.  Press CTRL+ESC to activate the START button.  UP ARROW to SHUT DOWN... and press ENTER.

    15.  DOWN ARROW to RESTART THE COMPUTER?  Press [ENTER]

    16.  Once Windows 95 is restarted, press CTRL+ESC to activate the START button.  UP ARROW to RUN and press
          ENTER.

    17.  Type REGEDIT [ENTER].

    18.  DOWN ARROW to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and press the RIGHT ARROW key.

    19.  DOWN ARROW to System.  Press the RIGHT ARROW key.

    20.  DOWN ARROW to CurrentControlSet.  Press the RIGHT ARROW key.

    21.  DOWN ARROW to Services.  Press the RIGHT ARROW key.

    22.  DOWN ARROW to VxD.  Press the RIGHT ARROW key.

    23.  DOWN ARROW to cc95drv.  Press the [TAB] key.

    24.  DOWN ARROW to LegacyTablet.  Press [ENTER].

    25.  Press the [DELETE] key (NOT BACKSPACE).

    26.  Type 00 [ENTER].

    27.  Press [SHIFT]+[TAB] to go back to cc95drv. Press the RIGHT ARROW key.

    28.  DOWN ARROW to Parameters.  Press the [TAB] key.

    29.  DOWN ARROW to ForceCom.  Press [ENTER].

    30.  Press the [DELETE] key (NOT BACKSPACE).

    31.  Type 0 + the COM port where the tablet is located.  Example: 01 for COM port 1.

    32.  Press [ENTER].

    33.  Press ALT+F4 to EXIT and SAVE

    34.  Press CTRL+ESC to activate the START button.  UP ARROW to SHUT DOWN... and press ENTER.

    35.  DOWN ARROW to RESTART THE COMPUTER?  Press [ENTER]

    36.  Once Windows 95 is restarted, the CalComp tablet should control the system mouse pointer.

C.  Configure AutoCAD for the CalComp Driver

    1.  Start up Windows 95

    2.  Enter AutoCAD for Windows

    3.  Type CONFIG at the Command Line to Configure AutoCAD

    4.  Select "Configure Digitizer"

    5.  Do you want to select a different one? [Y]

    6.  Select "Wintab Compatible Digitizer-ADI 4.2 by Autodesk Inc."

    7.  Type "0" to Exit to the drawing editor.

    8.  Keep configuration changes.  [Y]

    9.  Select "Preferences" under the "Options" menu.

   10.  Select "Digitizer/Mouse" under the Digitizer Input section.

   11.  Select [OK]

   12.  Begin Using AutoCAD for Windows

D.  Configuring the AutoCAD Template (ACAD.MNU only)

    1.  Type "TABLET" [ENTER] at the command line.

    2.  Type "CFG" [ENTER]

    3.  Enter the number of menu areas.

    4.  Select "4" [ENTER]

    5.  AutoCAD will now ask you to select the, Upper Left, Lower Left, and Lower Right corners of Menu Area 1 located
        at the top of your AutoCAD template.

    6.  Enter the number of columns for menu area 1:

    7.  Type "25" [Enter]

    8.  Enter the number of rows for menu area 1:

    9.  Type "9" [Enter]

   10.  Repeat steps 5-10 for menu areas 2, 3 and 4 using the columns and rows from the following table:

        a.  MENU AREA      COLUMNS     ROWS

               1                            25               9
               2                            11               9
               3                            9               13
               4                            25               7 

   11.  Do you want to respecify the Fixed Screen Pointing Area?  [Y]

        a.  "Digitize lower left corner of Fixed Screen Pointing Area." (Defining the lower left corner of the active mole area.
              Select the lower left hand corner of the active screen pointing area located on the template.)

        B.  "Digitize upper right corner of Fixed Screen Pointing Area." (Defining the upper right corner of the active mole
              area. Select the upper right hand corner of the active screen pointing area located on the template.)

   12.  The tablet is now configured for the AutoCAD template.
