Setup 25xxx Tablet with AutoCAD 13 for
DOS
A. Set Tablet Menu Settings to "AutoCAD as GTCO DP5" from the 2500 User's Manual
1. Refer to the "SETTING THE SOFT SWITCHES"
in your 2500 User's Manual for instructions on setting up
the
tablet for "AutoCAD as GTCO WITH GTCO MICRO DIGI-PAD
EMULATION."
2. Following are the menu settings required to enable
your digitizer to operate correctly:
Bank 1- 00000001
Bank 4- 00110100
Bank 2- 11001000
Bank 5- 01010100
Bank 3- 01110111
Bank 6- 00001000
(1 = Power Light is ON 0
= Power Light is OFF)
3. To change the menu settings:
a. Place the cursor on
the "BANK" block.
b. Select the block by
pressing the "0" button. The indicator light
will show which of the 8 banks is currently
active.
c. Select the block whose
number corresponds to the number of the
bank you wish to set.
d. Select the
"SETUP" block. The BANK indicator will go off and the
SETUP indicator will go on. The lights in
the
eight numbered blocks now indicate the status of the switches in that
bank.
e. The Pick 0 button will
toggle the light of each block to the
setting you wish.
f. Repeat steps
"a" through "e" for each bank requiring changes.
g. When finished, EXIT by
hitting the "SETUP" box again.
B. Reconfigure AutoCAD for the CalComp Driver
1. Start AutoCAD and type "CONFIG"
at the Command Line.
2. Choose "Configure Digitizer".
3. Do you want to select a different one?
[Y]
4. Select "CalComp Digitizer Series
ADI 4.2 - by CalComp" from the
AutoCAD Digitizer Configuration menu.
5. You will be prompted for a model: choose 2500
Series; indicate the size of your
board, number of buttons on
your
cursor, the COM in
which the board is plugged. It will ask if you wish
to choose Polling or Interrupt. If you have
a 486/66 or Pentium
system, choose Polling. With the 386 it will depend on
the system. Try both polling and
interrupt to define which
works best with your system.
6. Type "0" to Exit
7. Keep configuration changes. [Y]
8. Enter the drawing editor by opening or
creating a drawing.
a. With the polling option,
there could be possible crosshairs
snagging or sticking in Autocad. This would
be a
fraction of a second delay and happen
about every
20 seconds. Changing the Vscan rate easily
resolves this
situation. To make the changes
you will need
to be in the ACADR13\DOS DIRECTORY and type:
CFIG386
ACAD -VSCAN XXXXXX.
The formula
to calculate the "XXXXXX" rate is as follows:
Pentium
200: 20000 x Memory x 11
Pentium
166: 20000 x Memory x 10
Pentium 150: 20000 x Memory x 9
Pentium
133: 20000 x Memory x 8
Pentium
120: 20000 x Memory x 7
Pentium
100: 20000 x Memory x 6
Pentium
90: 20000 x Memory x 5
Pentium
66: 20000 x Memory x 4
Pentium
60: 20000 x Memory x 4
486:
20000 x Memory x 3
386:
20000 x Memory x 2
